Chief Minister lays the foundation stone for the SunTec campus @ Technocity on 1st September 2017
Trivandrum, September 1, 2017 – The Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, laid the foundation stone for SunTec’s new campus at Technocity, Pallipuram at 8:30 AM on Friday, 1st of September, 2017.The campus, set to be one of the greenest and most environment friendly campus in Kerala, when completed will be the first to have the prestigious Platinum Green Mark certification from the Singapore Building Authority.Nandakumar K, Founder & CEO, said, “For SunTec, this campus is one of our dreams. When we started planning for the campus, we wanted the campus to be a part of the natural environment. We have designed the campus in such a way that it incorporates the natural flora and environment of the region and helps us to foster creativity and innovation in our work.”The new campus will enable SunTec to create an additional capacity for more than 1500 software professionals. The campus will be spread across 10 acres and will have four buildings and a clubhouse. The buildings to be constructed in the 1st phase will be the 310,000 sq. ft. Software Development Center (which can accommodate 1500 software professionals) and the 40,000 sq. ft. club house. The campus will also house several state of the art facilities for its employees such as a swimming pool, restaurants, play-areas etc. The campus will also have a water body which will help SunTec in rain water harvesting. SunTec is also looking at several energy efficient technologies and non-conventional energy sources to make the campus as energy neutral as possible. The new campus is expected to be operational in 18 to 24 months.The partners of SunTec for this campus are: Surbana Jurong, the architects, one of the largest Asia-based urban, industrial and infrastructure consulting firms based in Singapore; Jones Lang LaSalle, the project management consultants, a global professional services and investment management firm offering specialization in real-estate services and Vellapally Brothers, the contractors, one of the leading property development and civil construction firms in Kerala.SunTec is one of the few Indian software product companies and has completely grown from Kerala. Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan was the Chief Guest of the ceremony and laid the foundation stone of the new SunTec campus. Member of Parliament Dr. A Sampath and Member of Legislative Assembly Shri. C Divakaran will be the guests of honour for the ceremony. Shri. M Sivasankar IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of Kerala, will deliver the keynote address. The foundation stone will be laid in the presence of Shri. VK Madhu, President, Thiruvananthapuram District Panchayat; Shri. M Jaleel, Member, Thiruvananthapuram District Panchayat; Smt. Jolly Pathros, President, Kazhakkootam Block Panchayat; Smt. Jalajakumari, Member, Kazhakkootam Block Panchayat; Smt. Ushakumari, President, Andoorkonam Grama Panchayat, Shri. V Jayachandran, Member, Andoorkonam Grama Panchayat and Hrishikesh Nair, CEO, Technopark.
